Charter Home Alliance was founded in 2009 by Tom McAndrew and Todd Patterson, two well established leaders in the homebuilding industry who together have over 50 years of experience serving the needs of a wide variety of clients including homebuyers, brokers, banks, and investors. The business began as a full-service home rehabilitation service, chiefly dealing with real estate owned (REO) properties, and has grown into a respected expert in the field. Through strategic partnerships with multiple large national banks, suppliers, realtors, and investors, Charter Home Alliance also offers turn-key real estate solutions from property discovery and lead sourcing, to transaction execution, scope of work for enhancements, performing the necessary enhancements, and presenting the finished property to the market.

Todd and Tom have played a major role in the industry in the Phoenix metropolitan area and have successfully expanded into the markets of Las Vegas, Nevada, Orange County, California, Washington, and Florida, with even more on the horizon. They have established, and continue to maintain, mutually beneficial relationships with trade contractors, suppliers, engineers, and insurance and warranty companies as well as municipal inspectors. These relationships provide the resources and competitive advantage necessary to navigate successfully through this tough economy.

Charter quickly obtained preferred SAM (Service Agreement Markets) Vendor status with Fannie Mae throughout Arizona and has since been approved in several other states. Investor groups find this background and core price base appealing as it allows Charter to effectively service various large-fund asset management firms in their home acquisition and rehabilitation programs.

Tom McAndrew, co-founder of Charter Home Alliance, has been a leader in the home building industry since graduating from Arizona State University in 1988. To date he has built over 11,000 home in Phoenix and throughout the Southwest. Prior to Charter Home Alliance, Tom managed overall operations for a top-5 builder, providing direct leadership over construction, sales, and marketing. Under his direction, his staff has acquired, developed and built a majority of the most successful master planned communities throughout the Phoenix valley. The relationships he has established with the entire scope of trade contractors will continue to provide first time quality to benefit every discipline and need. Todd Patterson, co-founder of Charter Home Alliance, began his career in the kitchen and bath industry in 1988 with American Woodmark Corporation after earning his undergraduate degree in Business Marketing from West Virginia University. Throughout his tenure, Todd held many sales, marketing, and operations positions, receiving several awards for his achievements. Most notably, he moved to Arizona in 1999 as Director and General Manager of the company’s west coast builder direct operations. Todd successfully built sales and operation in Phoenix and Northern California to volume levels of over 25,000 kitchen and bath installations per year.

In 2004 Todd started Andrew Lauren Cabinets in association with a leading Phoenix valley flooring contractor. Todd and his partners and team built a very successful company offering kitchens, flooring, and granite countertops to new home builders in the Phoenix market. The group has provided kitchens to nearly 10,000 new home in the valley under Todd’s leadership over the course of four years. In December of 2008 Todd started a retail labor division offering full general contracting services to large retail building supply chains. He has successfully grown this business to serve markets throughout Arizona.

Gael Marchal is the Vice President of Finance for Charter Home Alliance. He has significant experience in both real estate development and mergers and acquisitions with functions varying from sales and marketing to research analysis and finance. His versatility has been relied on to start new divisions and programs as well as drive process improvement in established operations. Prior to joining Charter, Gael was an analyst for a regional mergers and acquisitions firm based in Phoenix, AZ. As an M&A analyst, he was responsible for the financial and operational analysis of clients’ organizations, as well as being their primary point of contact during the marketing and deal making process.

Gael also held various positions for a national land development company and its affiliates. While there, he was involved in the implementation of new sales and marketing processes on both the corporate and field level as both a marketing analyst and then consultant for its sales personnel.

Gael holds an MBA in Global Finance from The Thunderbird School of Global Management, Glendale, AZ and a BS in Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

Tarl Yarber joined the Charter Home Alliance team in February 2012 as the Washington Sales Manager. Since then Tarl has been put in charge of all sales as a National Sales Manager and is currently responsible for the development of all expansion territories for Charter from Washington to Florida and in between. Prior to joining the Charter team, Tarl was the Principal Broker for a Financial Services Firm located in Northern California. As a fully licensed financial planner, Tarl developed over four-hundred personal clients and was responsible for recruiting, licensing, and training over seventy financial professionals.

Through his experience and reputation of building lasting relationships of trust, Tarl and his growing team work hand in hand with the clients of Charter to help insure a lasting partnership. Tarl’s dedication has helped create new and solidify old strategic partnerships for Charter, which helps give the company the ability to expand quickly and effectively in any territory. Working in unison with Charters Operations Manager, Greg Mohl, they have been able to develop Charter into a client focused business that guarantees to work as a team with those they serve.
